School’s new principal has local ties
St. Bridget Parish School has a new principal: Sean Slaikeu has taken the position starting July 1.
“We are glad to have Sean Slaikeu with us,” said St. Bridget Catholic Church’s the Rev. Gerald Harris. “He brings a lot of dedication and enthusiasm.
“Our search committee consisted of school staff, teachers, parents, a trustee, retired public school administrators, and myself. We prayed each step of the way for the right candidate to come forward. We found that person as our next principal.”
Slaikeu comes to St. Bridget with eight years of experience in education -- five as a health and physical education teacher and three as assistant principal of St. Croix Catholic School in Stillwater, Minn.
Slaikeu is said to be an active family man and member in the River Falls community. He served on the River Falls Area Ambulance from 2000-2010 as an EMT and has served on the River Falls Fire Department since 2004.
He and his family are members of St. Bridget Catholic Church and enjoy all that the River Falls community has to offer.
His wife Jessica teaches world studies at Hudson Middle School. Together they have two girls, Kennedy, 4, who will be attending St. Bridget School in the fall, and Tess, 6 months.
