On June 1 patrol officer Jeff Sather became the River Falls Police Department's fourth sergeant following the retirement in early spring of Jeff Linehan. The other sergeants are Janis Bock, Jon Aubart and Mike Reardon. Sather's wife Lori is a second grade teacher at Westside Elementary. Sather moves up to sergeant

After a dozen years of patrolling the streets of River Falls, Jeff Sather has been promoted to police sergeant effective June 1. Sather, 37, from Centuria, joined the police reserves in 1995 and became a full-time officer two years later. He has a degree from UW-River Falls and his wife, Lori, is a second grade teacher at Westside.

For the past decade Sather has given on-the-job training to newly hired officers.
