River Falls students learn about the civil war

Students from Meyer Middle School and the River Falls High School toured the River Falls Public Library's Civil War exhibit. In addition to seeing the exhibit, the 280 students had an opportunity to hear presentations by several Civil War re-enactors including: Jim Coughlin, an artillery re-enactor from Ellsworth, demonstrated the process of loading a Mountain Howitzer Cannon; Bart Hoekstra, an infantry re-enactor from Woodville; author and re-enactor, Mike Martin of Amery who described the experience of Civil War cavalry men; Doug Harmon; and Don Harmon.
