APPROVE 2013-14 TAX LEVY
The Board of Education is required to set the annual tax levy each October. The State of Wisconsin unexpectedly provided additional state aid to schools in mid-October which delayed the ability of the Board of Education to set the levy. The Department of Public Instruction (DPI) released all of the information necessary to complete the levy calculation at the end of the business day on Friday, October 25th. The final state aid changes are as follows:
2012-13 State Aid: $13,926,352
Anticipated 2013-14 State Aid: $14,605,491
FINAL 2013-14 State Aid: $14,822,557
Smurawa presented the final overview of the levy and mil rate for the district. Kenney moved, Gerczak seconded to approve the 2013-14 tax levy of $17,317,408. Motion carried unanimously (5-0). A copy of the final levy as approved is available for viewing at the District Office.
APPROVE INCREASED SPEECH AND LANGUAGE FTE
Due to a growing caseload in Speech and Language at the high school, a request has been made for an increase of .05 FTE (32 minutes/day). This increase will alleviate conflicts with scheduling new S/L students. Tuchtenhagen moved, Kolpin seconded to approve the .05 FTE increase at an estimated cost of $4000. Motion carried unanimously (5-0).
President Johnson Myers adjourned the meeting at 5:57 p.m.
Barbara E Kolpin, Clerk
