River Falls school board has contested race
Newcomer Mark Nippoldt turned in his candidacy forms for school board Thursday, Jan. 2. Nippoldt, who is retired, lives at 1883 Morning Glory Drive.
There are now three candidates running for the two open seats on the seven-member school board.
The school district’s Darlene McBride says this is the first contested school board race since 2011 when Stacy Johnson Myers and Rich Gerczak ran against Kevin Peterson.
Nippoldt now joins Johnson Myers and Gerczak on the 2014 spring election ballot for school board.
There is still time for other candidates to register. The school district’s central office at 852 E. Division St. has reopened after the holidays.
Candidates must complete Campaign Registration Statement Form (GAB-1) and the revised Declaration of Candidacy Forum (GAB-162SD) by 5 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 7.
The second form requires a notary. This can be done at the district’s central office.
