The second degree sexual assaults are Class C felonies, while the first degree sexual assaults are Class B felonies.

Hetchler has a preliminary hearing scheduled on Friday for both cases in Pierce County Circuit Court.

May

According to the criminal complaint, River Falls police were notified of an alleged sexual assault case in early June.

The victim, a 16-year-old girl, told police the incident happened on May 20 "in an individual by the name of Brad's house."

She stated she didn't know any other information other than he was between 19 and 20 years old.

On the night in question, the victim said she and friends stopped by Hetchler's trailer home. There was a party going with 10-15 people and alcohol and marijuana being used.

The victim had a certain drink, which made her feel weird and light-headed. She went into a back bedroom to lie down. After 10-15 minutes an individual entered the room. She recognized him as Hetchler.

He shut the door and assaulted her, the victim claimed.

"Don't move or it's going to be worse," she remembers Hetchler telling her. He told her repeatedly to be quiet and left.

The victim then went to another room, spent the night and waited for a friend to come by and pick her up.

The next day police arranged a photo lineup for the victim and, with no uncertainty, she claimed Hetchler was her assailant.

A few days later, police questioned Hetchler. He said he had a party the night of the incident and remembers seeing the victim who he thought was 16 or 17.

Hetchler told police the victim "was flirty" that night, very talkative and that they argued about methamphetamines.

Police arrested Hetchler and took him to jail. According to the complaint, Hetchler admitted to kissing and touching the victim, but denied having sexual intercourse or assaulting her.
