River Falls man arrested after Hwy. 29 crash
CHIPPEWA FALLS -- The Chippewa County Sheriff's Department is investigating a rollover crash that has injured three children.
It happened around 8 p.m. Sunday night on State Hwy 29, westbound at Mile Marker 74 near Chippewa Falls.
Deputies have arrested the driver of the car, Chad Kohel, 40, of River Falls, for driving under the influence.
Deputies say Kohel lost control of the car, overturned it and blocked all westbound lanes of traffic. The State Patrol indicated the highway was closed for about 90 minutes.
Three kids under the age of 16 were in the car at time, one was thrown from the vehicle.
They were all taken to the hospital. The extent of their injuries isn't known at this time.
Kohel is being held at the Chippewa County Jail.
Deputies say all westbound lanes are now open to traffic on Hwy. 29.
