Immunization clinic scheduled
Pierce County Public Health's monthly River Falls immunization clinic will be held from 3-5 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 24, at 113 W. Walnut St., in the lower level of the Edina Realty building. A consent form must be signed by the parent or guardian. If a child is sent with someone other than a parent (i.e., grandparent, babysitter, friend) signed written permission for the specific immunization(s) to be given that day must be provided. Donations are accepted at all clinic sites. Call a physician or the Public Health Department at 273-6755 with questions.
Creative Drive set
The sixth annual Creative Drive self-directed art tour will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, May 2 and 3, in River Falls, Roberts, Hammond and Baldwin, and feature 45 regional artists. Shops, galleries and studios will showcase functional and decorative artwork for sale, including paintings, ceramics, textiles, photography, sculpture, and jewelry. Artwork appreciated at gathering
The art glass and hand paintings of local artist Jolanda Stammler will be featured during an "Artist Appreciation" held from 4-8 p.m. Friday, May 8, at Harmony Hair Design, 128 N. Main St. For more information, call 425-9900.
Re-dedication and celebration planned
The 150th anniversary celebration of the River Falls Masonic Temple will include a re-dedication of the site, with a dinner at noon and re-dedication ceremony at 1:30 Saturday, May 2. Grand Master John Wilke will lead the re-dedication. The public is invited to attend. A $10 donation will be accepted. Call 425-6760 to RSVP.
The River Falls Masons will host a brunch from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday, May 3, at the Moose Lodge, 620 N. Clark St. The public is welcome to attend.
Profits will go to benefit Masonic charities. On the menu: Pancakes, French toast, scrambled eggs, bacon, ham, sausage, potatoes, coffee, juice and milk. Cost is $7 per person; children five years old and younger eat free.
Annual arts GALA celebrated by CAB
The River Falls Community Arts Base will hold its 13th annual Spring Arts GALA from 6-10 p.m. Saturday, May 9, at the River Falls Golf Club. Music by Chris Silver and Friends and the Generation II Big Band will be featured, along with complimentary hors d'oeuvres, a cash bar and a silent auction of art work from local artists. The evening will also include a belly dance performance by the Isis Aurora troupe and five artists will demonstrate their work. Tickets are $25 in advance, $30 at the door, and available at The Dish and the Spoon Cafe, the Whole Earth Grocery, and from CAB board members.
This year a musical performance has been added to the annual student art exhibit at the River Falls Public Library. About a dozen students have been selected by music teachers giving private lessons in the area who will perform on piano, violin, cello, bass, flute and guitar and more. The program will begin at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 3. The public is invited to the free concert. Call the library at 425-0905 for more information.
