Raising funds to end violence
More than 200 people took part in Turningpoint’s 25th annual Domestic Violence Awareness Walk, held Saturday, Oct. 12, in Prescott. The walk, held the second Saturday in October at the Great River Road and Visitor Learning Center, raised just over $10,000. Four awards were handed out, among the winners were members of United Church of Christ of Prescott who raised the most money. Other winners include: Best dressed pet, UW-River Falls Journey House; most team members at the event, United Church of Christ of Prescott; and most empowered spirit, the Weiland Family, who come every year in honor of Sue Wieland.
