Public library trains right on schedule
The River Falls library will soon feature model railroading hobbyist Arthur Hill, a member and tour organizer for the Twin Cities Division of the Thousand Lakes Region of the American Model Railroading Association.
Hill plans to fill the program with demonstrations of how to create model layouts, where to find what you need, and why in the world anybody would do this.
Hill will be at the library at 10 a.m. this Saturday, Oct. 12.
Other related railroad programs include a trip down memory lane with retired engineer and author Bud Hoekstra, who wrote “The Life and Times of a Railroad Engineer.”
Join him as he reminisces about the adventures of his 42-year career with the railroad at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 19.
And “What’s Down the Line? A Look at the Future of Real Railroads in Western Wisconsin” features William Draves, St. Croix Valley Rail Group.
Draves will talk about the current status of rail transportation and what the future holds for expansion of service to our area at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 24.
All programs are free and will be in the library’s lower level community room.
