As promised, a Favre jersey was burned for charity in Eau Claire last night
As promised, an Eau Claire restaurant burned a Brett Favre jersey last night during the Packer-Viking game.
The manager of the Milwaukee Burger Co., was planning to hold a little bonfire for those who wanted to burn their Favre items.
But after the fire department said it wasn't kosher, Julie Kolk selected one jersey to burn, sent by a Packers' fan from New Jersey.
The rest were donated to Goodwill Industries.
About a dozen items were donated by halftime, but Kolk expects more this week. Maybe it's because Favre got his detractors even more angry by throwing three touchdowns against his old team in a 30-23 Vikings' win over Green Bay.
For every item turned in, Milwaukee Burger donated $10 to the Wisconsin Alliance for Fire Safety, to help a summer camp in East Troy for young burn victims.
Meanwhile, Kolb said she'll plan something different for the next Packer-Viking game on Nov. 1. That game will be at Lambeau Field.
