Primary results: Toland, Richards set for rematch in April election
Inucmbent Mayor Dan Toland and former Mayor Don Richards will face off once again in the April election. Toland and Richards recieved the most votes in the mayoral primary election Tuesday, Feb. 18. Three candidates competed in the primary: Toland, Richards and Mike Wharton. The primary eliminated one candidate from the running. The top two vote getters will move on to the April 1 general election.
City Clerk Lu Ann Hecht said Toland and Richards will be on the April 1 ballot.
This will be the second time Toland and Richards run against each other for the office of mayor. Toland defeated Richards--then incumbent mayor--in the last mayoral election.
According to the unofficial primary election results, Toland recieved 291 votes, Richards recieved 138 votes and Wharton recieved 64 votes.
