Despite temperatures in the 90s, hundreds of people attended the Border Battle Beer Fest held Saturday, Sept. 7, at the Somerset Ampitheater. The event featured beer from nine Minnesota breweries and nine Wisconsin breweries. Indeed Brewing Company from Minneapolis earned the Golden Firkin for the judges' vote. Rush River of River Falls finished second in the running for this year's Golden Firkin.

Brady's Brewhouse of New Richmond and American Sky Beer of Hudson also participated in the event.
