Permits needed for some residential parking

The city's residential parking law goes into effect Tuesday, Sept. 1, and runs through May 31 for Zones A and B.

Zones A and B will be enforced from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., excluding Saturdays, Sundays and legal holidays.

Zone C in the Residential Parking Zone is in effect year round and is enforced from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., also excluding Saturdays, Sundays and legal holidays.

The Police Department encourages people to visit its website at www.rfcity.org/police, select the Information Page and then Residential Parking Permit System for more information and a map showing the three different zones.

Parking permits will be issued at the police station, 111 N. Second St., beginning Monday, Aug. 24, from 2-4 p.m. and Wednesdays from 9 a.m. to noon.

Anyone who can't make those times may call the Police Department at 425-0909 to make an appointment between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
