Old-fashioned live radio play at Spring Valley theater
"It's a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play", written by Joe Landry, based on the 1946 film "It's a Wonderful Life will be presented at Spring Valley Stagehands Theatre.
Production director is Ellen Rominski, who is also acting in the show, along with Mary Anderson, Gary Lukes, Greg Schmitt, and Duane Kuesel.
These five local actors portray many different characters as they interpret this holiday classic staged as a 1940's radio show, complete with sound effects and character voices.
"It's a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play" will be presented at the Spring Valley Stagehands Theater, S234 McKay Ave., on Thursday, Dec. 6, and Friday, Dec. 7, at 7 p.m.; Sunday, Dec. 9, at 2 p.m.; and Friday, Dec. 14, and Saturday, Dec. 15, at 7 p.m.
Tickets can be reserved by phoning the theater at 715-778-4475 or will be available at the theater door on the night of performances.
Auditions for "Almost, Maine," slated to be performed around Valentine's Day will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 11, and Wednesday, Dec 12, from 7-8:30 pm.
Director Lori Peterson is looking for 4 to 19 actors to take part in the show -- up to 9 men and 10 women. Ages considered range from late high school to adult. Auditions will consist of reading from a script. No prior preparation is needed.
