Murphy hits milestone

The River Falls boys’ basketball team presented senior Luke Murphy, center, with a basketball commemorating his 1,000th career point before the Wildcats’ home game against the New Richmond Tigers Monday, Jan. 20.

Murphy surpassed the 1,000 point mark in the Cats’ 58-50 loss at Eau Claire North on Thursday, Feb. 16. He needed two points to reach the milestone and finished with a team-high 23. He scored 16 points the following night at Hudson and led all scorers with 31 points Monday in the Wildcats’ 63-54 win over New Richmond to bring his career total to 1,068.
