Murphy goes off for 51 in Cats’ rout of Cardinals

River Falls’ senior Luke Murphy erupted for 51 points and the Wildcat boys basketball team came up just four points short of the century mark in a 96-60 win over Chippewa Falls Thursday night, Feb. 6, in River Falls.

The Wildcats reached the 96-point mark without making a three-pointer. They hit 43 field goals, all from inside the arc, while shooting 10-of-19 from the free throw line.

In high school hockey action Thursday night, Hunter Dolan tallied a hat trick and Mason Woiwode had two goals and two assists in the Wildcat boys’ hockey team’s 8-2 win at Eau Claire North.

In girls’ hockey, Maddie Rowe scored two goals and Carlie Christensen stopped all 26 shots she faced as the St. Croix Valley Fusion shut out Chippewa Falls/Menomonie, 2-0, in Baldwin.
