Mother stabs daughter's alleged rapist
We're learning more today (Friday) about a violent response to the sexual assault of an eight-year-old girl in Sheboygan.
According to police, a 30-year-old man saw a 17-year-old boy raping the girl in her bedroom Thursday.
The man responded by hitting the boy with a house fan, a shovel and other items. Then he pulled him from the bedroom.
The girl's mother and her boyfriend came in to stop the fight but they didn't know what it was about until later.
When the woman and the alleged rapist were alone, she reportedly picked up a kitchen knife and stabbed him several times.
He's hospitalized with arm and leg wounds.
The girl's mother is under arrest, and the district attorney's office is reviewing the case. The 30-year-old man could also be charged.
The teen was related to some of the residents in the apartment. He's also facing charges, and it's not the first time.
Police said he was placed under a deferred prosecution agreement last fall and had he stayed clean, he would have been cleared of a second-degree sexual assault charge.
Now, the boy faces up to 25 years in prison in that case, plus whatever happens in Thursday's incident.
