Microchip bridges 1,800-mile gap between owner, cat

A cat that showed up on the doorstep of the South Wood County Humane Society has been reunited with its owners in Tucson, Ariz.

The 10 year old Siamese cat, Ace, arrived at the organization's front door the morning of April 22 with no tag or note. When volunteers scanned the cat for a microchip, they found he'd been missing from his faraway home for 10 months.

Shelter officials say they are puzzled about the way the cat may have made it all the way to Wisconsin Rapids, but he's flying home now.
