Meyer Middle School girls’ cross country takes first, boys third

The Meyer Middle School Cross Country team hosted a home meet Tuesday, Oct. 8, at Hoffman Park. Despite the breezy conditions, the girls’ team placed all five scorers in the top 10 and took the team title.

Scorers included: Eighth grader Emma Handlos, first; seventh grader Calla Dexheimer, third; seventh grader McKenna Mears, fifth; seventh grader Elsa Putzier, ninth; and eighth grader Courtney Westbrook, 10th.

On the boys’ side, eighth grader Tyler Cernohous took first and eighth grader Jake Lindsay took third, while the boys’ team took third out of five teams.

The MMS cross country team, coached by middle school teachers, Chelsea Truttman, Aaron Boche, and Kelyn King, will finish the season with a final meet next Tuesday at New Richmond.
