May 27, 2013: Three departments fight Sunday evening house fire
Fire erupted in a town of River Falls home Sunday evening, bringing out three area departments for about two hours.
Fire was reported at a home nestled off a wooded cul de sac at N8641 1020th St., about a mile south of West Division Street, on the west side of the Kinnickinnic River.
The first River Falls unit arriving declared the house fully-involved with fire, spurring a mutual aid request for engines and water tankers from Hudson and Ellsworth. The blaze was declared under control in about 30 minutes.
Neighbors stood on decks along 879th and walked 1020th Street, hoping for a look, but River Falls police kept onlookers out, citing the narrow drive and danger of fire trucks arriving and departing the scene.
Firefighters cleared the scene about 8:45 p.m.
Pierce County land records indicate the home is owned by Dean Coke and Robin Murray.
No further details were immediately available.
