Mary Jane Evenson Sullivan, 90

Mary Jane Jessie Muckenhirn was born Feb. 20, 1920, in North Hudson, Wis., to Inga Peterson Muckenhirn and Michael Leo Muckenhirn. She had three older siblings, Leona, Virgil and Virginia, and two younger siblings, Jeanette and Lester.

Surviving are four children: Mary Ann Anderson and husband, Orin, of Albuquerque, N.M.; Judy Tostrud and husband, Jim, of River Falls, Wis.; Karen Turnbull and husband, John, of Boulder, Colo.; and Don Evenson of North Hudson. She is also survived by nine grandchildren: Jon Anderson (Laurie Buck), Mary Lee Anderson (David Wilson), Judy Anderson Box (Fred Box), Jim Tostrud (Maureen), David Tostrud (Kimberly), Eric Tostrud, Jessie Davies, Michael Davies, and Anna Davies. She has 13 great-grandchildren; Emma Anderson, Rachel Dondero, Kevin Wilson, Luke Wilson, Rob Griffin, Julia Box, Molly Box, Noah Tostrud, Jonah Tostrud, Grace Tostrud, Alexandra Tostrud, Jonathan Tostrud, and Alexander Tostrud, and one great-great-grandchild, Hunter Austin Williamson of Broomfield, Colo. She also survived by her sister Jeanette Peulen and husband, Bill, of Hudson, and several nieces and nephews.

Mary Jane was preceded in death by her husbands Don Evenson and James Sullivan; her parents; and her siblings, Leona, Virgil, Virginia and Lester.

Some of Mary Jane's many joys in life were doing the crossword puzzle in the paper every day, watching tennis on cable TV, reading, and playing cards, especially bridge with her friends at Wellhaven. Spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren was also a great joy to Mary Jane.

A "Celebration of Life" will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 15, at Ezekiel Lutheran Church, 202 S. Second St., River Falls.
