He was raised on the Stock Farmstead, a century farm that was founded in 1869. He attended Glenmont Country School prior to the River Falls High School. Lynn was never married. He and his brother Alvin "Bud" farmed together their entire life until Bud's death in 2006.

Lynn continued tending to his fields and animals right up until the end. He also enjoyed reading and taking drives along the countryside noting all the seasonal changes and how the crops were doing.

Lynn enjoyed visiting with everyone who stopped by to say hello and would usually end up talking them into a game of cards or pool and a glass of wine. To shorten the winter months, friends and neighbors would gather in Lynn's garage for an afternoon of some pill pool, a few beers, and lots of "intelligent conversation" in the heat (and smoke) of the wood stove.

Lynn is survived by his cousins and is preceded by his parents and brother.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Wednesday, July 15, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Hudson with Father Dan Dahlberg officiating. Music provided by the parish Hope Choir.

Burial was held in the church cemetery with his cousins as casketbearers.

Funeral services entrusted to the O'Connell Family Funeral Home in Hudson.
