Longtime River Falls resident named to administrative post at Normandale; she'll keep rooting for Packers
Lisa Wheeler has accepted the job of vice president for student affairs at Normandale Community College in Bloomington, Minn. Wheeler, who lives in River Falls, is the current interim vice chancellor for administration and finance at UW-River Falls.
She started at UW-RF in 1989 as assistant dean of students and then became director of the Academic Success Center. She left for a time and returned to the university in 2006 as interim chief information officer before moving on to her current position in October 2008.
"My time at UW-River Falls has been wonderful," Wheeler said. "It has been a great experience watching the university grow and develop.
"I look forward to watching the university continue to do so from across the river."
Wheeler went on to pledge that despite working in Minnesota, she will not become a Vikings fan.
"Dr. Wheeler has served UW-River Falls with distinction in several roles over many years, and has contributed a great deal to our university's progress," said Chancellor Dean Van Galen. "I know that our campus is grateful for Lisa's contributions, and wishes her the very best at Normandale."
Wheeler's last day at UW-RF will be March 12. The search for a permanent vice chancellor for administration and finance is underway.
