Good Shepherd Christian Academy, an independent, nondenominational, parent-run school just northeast of River Falls on Hwy. 65 will close its K-8 program at the end of this school year. Next fall Good Shepherd will only serve grades 9-12, and that high school program will shift to Hudson at a yet-to-be named site.
Good Shepherd has been working with Trinity Academy in Hudson, another Christian school, that will expand its educational program. Trinity, now a K-5 school, will next year add grades 6-8 and take in many of Good Shepherd's current students.
Good Shepherd rents school space from Abundant Life Church, 896 Hwy. 65. The school will close after this spring.
A statement released by Good Shepherd and Trinity schools said they are "choosing to assist one another by building on each organization's strengths. This joint venture has arisen out of a common desire to continue to improve Christian educational opportunities for families in the St. Croix River Valley."
