Library exhibit needs your help to get on the right track
'Railroadiana' is neither a state nor a disease.
Railroadiana will also be incorporated into an upcoming show at the River Falls Public Library's gallery, according to the library's gallery/event coordinator Katie Chaffee.
Chaffee said the Model Railroad exhibit has been in the works for around four years, ever since a library patron suggested an exhibit featuring model railroads.
The show, scheduled for Sept. 29-Oct. 25, will feature several model railroad exhibits, including a working model railroad, and, Chaffee hopes, Railroadiana loaned to the library by River Falls citizens.
Chaffee says the library is looking for people willing to share railroad-related items, such as timetables, brochures and other advertising materials, lanterns, horns and whistles, locomotive nameplates, station signs and railway signals, dining car linens, silverware and china, sleeping car linens, rail spikes, dispatching forms and rail orders, and hand tools such as shovels and brakeman's clubs.
The items will be on display in the library's lower level locked glass display cases, adding another dimension to the Model Railroad exhibit.
If you have something you think other people might be interested in seeing, please call Chaffee at 715-426-3496 for more information.
