Libertarian event is Sunday
The Libertarian Party Pierce announced its inaugural economic literacy event; “Road Signs,” featuring UW-River Falls, Professor of Management Brian Huffman, College of Business and Economics.
The event is Sunday, Sept. 29, at Kilkarney Hills Golf Club north of River Falls. The party is hosting a coffee and dessert social beginning at 6 p.m. with presentations to begin at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door, and students are free; space is limited. For tickets, go to www.payitsquare.com/collect-page/16539.
“Road Signs’ will be about how we’re losing our (economic) freedoms to the centralization of authority,” said Professor Huffman in the promotional video for the event. “And we’ll talk about how that loss is putting us in danger of some real disaster and what they may turn out to be.”
“I worked in financial services for 13 years and I can tell you the need for economic literacy is at the core of our problems,” said Party Chair Robert Burke. “We can fight all we want about solutions, but we need to move to a point in the conversation, first, where we all have the same information. I expect tri-partisan agreement on that fact.”
The also party invites any organization within the Pierce-St. Croix region who wishes to co-sponsor the event to contact the party. The only request is that the organization support freedom and liberty as one of the ways to achieve greater success in its endeavors. For more information contact Burke at PSCLibertyValley@GMail.com.
