Letter: Ideology over wisdom
What is it about railroads that turns politicians into ideologues?
We had $800,000,000 of our own money, coming back to Wisconsin businesses and workers to build a high speed rail line from Milwaukee to Madison, and beyond.
Governor-elect Walker chose to say, "No thanks," to Washington, sending that money to his friends in Illinois and California and elsewhere.
I admit, I like trains, and have used them extensively. So, maybe I'm biased, but in these stark economic times, it seems incredibly arrogant, and ignorant, to place ideology over practical economics.
It's true, we can all live without high-speed rail, although not as well or as efficiently. One must wonder,
