MADISON - River Falls' s Sebastian Larson won both his matches Friday to advance to the semifinals at 182 pounds in Division 1 at the WIAA State Individual Wrestling Meet.

Larson was control from start to finish in both of them. He (43-2) topped Josh Wilkowski (40-6) of South Milwaukee by a 13-4 major decision in the prelims and had no trouble with Pulaski's Levi Van Lanen (33-9) in the quarterfinals, winning 12-3.

Larson will take on Sun Prairie's undefeated Wesley Schult (45-0) in the semifinals Friday evening. Matches begin at 7 p.m.

River Falls's other entry in the state meet, 152 pounder Darius Wright, lost to defending state champion Jared Scharenbrock (49-0) of Sun Prairie 7-0 in the prelims but wrestled a solid match despite not scoring. Scharenbrock went on to win his quarterfinal match so Wright will wrestle Justin Kloehn of Kaukauna (40-10) in the consolation round Friday morning.
