Kwik Trip, take two
The north-end and second Kwik Trip in River Falls opened at 5 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 28. Located at 1238 N. Main St., the new station is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, year round.
Twelve hours after opening, a steady stream of customers could be seen populating the pumps, patronizing the store and passing through the car-wash bays.
Construction on it began in early summer. With it came a reconfigured intersection with turning lanes and signal lights at the Quarry Road intersection. A longstanding Holiday store and gas station was bought and demolished to make room for Kwik Trip.
Assistant Store Leader Matt Bahr said people seemed eager for Kwik Trip to open.
"We'll definitely be welcoming them with open arms," said Bahr, who lives in River Falls.
Jeremy Haack is Kwik Trip's store leader. There are 31 full- and part-time employees at the new Kwik Trip.
Kwik Trip's phone number is 715-425-1386. A store ribbon cutting is planned for 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 2.
Bahr said Kwik Trip is mailing out fliers with special coupon savings to area residents as part of a three-week grand opening promotion in November.
Three years ago, the La Crosse-based Kwik Trip chain opened a store at 1200 S. Main St. in River Falls next to Ramer Field.
Bahr said both local Kwik Trips are of similar size, but there are differences: Kwik Trip North has a soft-touch car wash option for more thorough cleaning and polishing that features a spinning foam brush; a walk-in, refrigerated "beer cave;" and an exclusive diesel gas bay geared especially for processing semi-truck drivers.
