Prizes will be awarded in four age groups: 4 and under, 5-8, 9-12 and 13 and up.

Fish size will be judged on weight alone, and all fish will be released unless they are of legal size limit and the accompanying adult approves.

Entry into the contest is free, and all entrants will receive some type of entry premium. Boy Scouts will sell food, coffee and soft drinks during the contest.

There is no advance registration. Complete rules will be available at the contest site. Entrants will fish from the public land in the city of Prescott.

There will also be four learning stations that will run from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Children can learn how to identify fish, tie knots and about general equipment usage and maintenance. There will be a casting practice station and a casting contest.

The learning stations are sponsored by the High School Fishing Club and the Prescott Sportsman's Club.

The Kiwanis Club is a nationally affiliated service organization that seeks to better its local community through various service projects. The Prescott Kiwanis Club has a special emphasis on programs that involve and help children. The Club meets Thursdays at noon at the Ambulance Building. Visitors are welcome.
