Joan M. Kleinschmidt, 62, of Almena died Saturday, Feb. 28, 2009, at Cumberland Memorial Hospital.
She was born on Nov. 28, 1946, in River Falls, to Francis and Ruth (Jackman) Luloff. Joan graduated from River Falls High School in 1965.
She was a hard worker, as was demonstrated by 20 years at Hartzell Manufacturing. Joan loved to garden when she was able and enjoyed hunting with Vern. She was a wonderful mother and loved spending time with the grandchildren. Joan was an excellent cook, devoted homemaker and cat lover. She showed great strength and perseverance in the face of her many health adversities.
She was married in Barron on Feb. 20, 1988, to Vernon Kleinschmidt, who preceded her in death on Jan. 18, 2005.
She is survived by one son, Chris Baldwin of Almena; two stepsons: Vern (Emily) Kleinschmidt of Almena and Shane Kleinschmidt of Hammond; four grandchildren: Bryce and Devin Baldwin and Austin and Dylan Kleinschmidt; one brother, Robert (Sandy) Luloff of Chippewa Falls; one sister, Bonnie Moe of Baldwin; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 4, 2009, at Skinner Funeral Home, Cumberland, with the Rev. Timothy Schmidt officiating. Friends were invited to call from 10-11 a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
Funeral arrangements were handled by Skinner Funeral Home of Cumberland.
