Irene J. Kay, 93
Irene Julia Kay of River Falls, died on Wednesday, June 4, at the Lutheran Home in River Falls. She was born June 16, 1920, in Downing, Wis., to William and Lena (Templin) Breslin. Irene was an elementary school teacher for many years. She enjoyed traveling, playing bridge, and golfing.
Irene is survived by five children, Philip Prowse (Karen Melvin) of Plymouth, Minn., Joe (Dawn) Kay of LaCrosse, Wis., Dan (Marilyn) Kay of Danbury, Wis., Susan (Joe) Kay Brown of Menomonie, Wis., and Richard Kay of Sydney, Australia; daughters-in-law, Kathy Kay of Tucson, Ariz., and Ruth Kay of River Falls; as well as 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Horace Prowse and Eugene Kay; sons, Leslie Kay and Jeff Kay; and all her brothers and sisters.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m. Monday, June 9, at St. Bridget Catholic Church with Fr. Gerald Harris officiating. Visitation will be held starting at 10 a.m. until the time of Mass on Monday. Private family interment will be in St. Bridget Catholic Cemetery, River Falls.
