How does your compost grow? Find out April 26
Student Compost Manager Max Hart, will be conducting a compost education seminar from 6-7:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 26, at Lab Farm #2, 129 South Glover Rd.
The session will be about how compost will give people the advantage in the garden, flower beds or the lawn.
He will talk about the compost process -- how it works and why it works. You will learn how to apply compost to the garden or lawn and how much.
Hart will also discuss how to do your own backyard composting to lower your carbon footprint.
Gardening and the basics of gardening so you can lower your grocery bill and grow your own food will also be discussed.
He will also answer questions that pertain to composting or gardening.
People will get to see different types of compost and will get a tour of the UW-RF compost facility and get ideas to do their own backyard compost pile or bin.
There will also be different garden designs to help home gardeners design their own for the summer of 2011.
