Dust off those Easter baskets and get ready to go egg hunting because the 2014 Lions Club Easter Egg Hunt and Carnival is from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, April 12, at River Falls High School.

Egg hunt coordinator Rose Rude said Saturday’s free event is geared toward kids ages one to seven.

The first group of Easter egg hunters will be released at 11:45 a.m.

During the egg hunt Rude said that groups of about 50 kids will be allowed to look for eggs every 10-15 minutes until all kids get a chance.

Rude said that each child will be limited to four eggs and that one or two eggs per hunt will contain a ticket to win a stuffed animal.

Rude said there will be two egg hunting areas.

“Kids will hunt in one area, then the second area will be restocked for the next group,” she said.

Same as in years past, there will be a pool with wood shavings for the under-two age group.

Said Rude: “Last year we had extra eggs, so there was an extra run for anyone who wanted another turn at 1:15 p.m.”

Carnival games and the concession stand will open at 11:30 a.m. There will be photo opportunities with the Easter Bunny.

There will also be face painting and various games including: A bean bag toss, flip flop faces, an egg race, number game, bubbles and sidewalk chalk, and more.

Rude said that the “Grumpy Old Men” – Jerry Carter and Mel Germanson --  will be collecting food shelf donations. The Lions Club will collect used eye glasses and cell phones.
