Heritage Quilts show is Nov. 9-10
The Hudson Heritage Quilters’ Guild is hosting its 11th biennial quilt show, Patchwork Harvest, on Nov. 9-10 at the Hudson Middle School, 1300 Carmichael Road. Hours are 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. Sunday.
This year’s guild-sponsored raffle quilt, “Sapphire Bouquet,” will help raise money for local area food shelves. Raffle tickets are available for $1 and can be purchased before and during the show. The raffle drawing will be held on Sunday at 3 p.m.
Over 200 quilts will be on display ranging from large bed quilts, miniatures and quilted clothing. Guild-sponsored projects such as challenge quilts and charity quilts will also be featured. Vendors will be offering their latest favorite wares for the upcoming winter season, and each will do product and technique demonstrations.
Quilt guild members have also made and donated small quilted items that will be available for purchase in a small quilt auction. Bids will be accepted both Saturday and Sunday for a variety of selected items. A special area with baskets of items may be purchased at the new Buy It Now display. Proceeds from these two areas help support guild projects.
This year’s show will also feature special guest lectures from Debbie Bowles of Maple Island Quilts (Saturday at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.) and Lori Allison of Allison Designs (Sunday at 1 p.m.). The admission fee covers the cost of the lectures, but is first come first serve as seating room allows.
Admission to the quilt show is $6 and includes admittance to the guest lecture on the day of your attendance; children under 4 are admitted free. Lunch is available for purchase.
Guild members, made up of about 65 individuals, meet regularly on the third Saturday of each month at 9:30 a.m. at Bethel Lutheran Church in Hudson (downtown location) for a formal business meeting followed by a program with guest speakers or group projects.
