Harvest Moon barn dance on Oct. 3
The River Falls Area Hospital Foundation's fourth annual Harvest Moon Barn Dance will be on Saturday, Oct. 3 at Westridge Farms, just west of River Falls. The event features great food, a silent auction, raffles and live music by "Stampede." Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 at the door.
The proceeds from this year's event will go to the Free Clinic of Pierce and St. Croix Counties, to subsidize enrollment of patients eligible for Wisconsin's new BadgerCare+ Core Plan; a collaborative effort to promote and provide flu shots to low-income uninsured or underinsured individuals; and other programs. Sponsorship opportunities are available, and donations are being accepted for the silent auction and raffle; those interested in making a donation are asked to call Heather Logelin at 426-4503.
The event is planned by local volunteers Deb Brown, Mary Conroy-Johnson, Pam Deal, Julie Gore, Mary Johnson, Michelle Johnson, Polly Kleven, Donna Miller, Amy Scholz and Kelly Sylla.
More than 350 people attended the 2008 Harvest Moon Barn Dance, raising more than $75,000 that were donated to support the Free Clinic of Pierce and St. Croix Counties and the Pierce County Public Health Department's school-based dental clinics.
The "Access to Care" fund supports programs to help provide health care services to people in the region.
