Gustave L. Platson, 87

Gustave Leroy "Bud" Platson of Wilson, Wis., passed away peacefully on Saturday, Feb. 8, at the Baldwin Area Hospital, surrounded by his family.

Bud was born on the family farm South of Glenwood City, Wis., on March 21, 1926, to Henry and Minnie (Foote) Platson. He was christened at the Glenwood City Methodist church on June 14, 1926.

In 1952, after acquiring his cheese maker's license, the family moved to River Falls. Bud became Cheese maker and manager of the Golden Star Cheese Factory.

He leaves behind to celebrate his life, his wife of 68 years, Rethia; children: David Platson of Roberts, Wis., Donald (Kathy) Platson of Janesville, Wis., Kathy Phalin of Downing, Wis., Patty (Joe) Jarvis of Pahrump, Nev., and Loyd (Julie) Platson of Pahrump, Nev.; 17 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; along with many nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.

Service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 15, at Anderson Funeral Home, with Julie Platson officiating. Interment of the cremains will be in the Spring at the Glenwood Cemetery, Glenwood City. Friends may call at the funeral home from 12-2 p.m. on Saturday.
