Gretchen Krueger, age 85, of River Falls, died on Nov. 5, at her home.

Gretchen graduated from Hudson High School and the River Falls State Teacher's College. She then taught elementary school in Bayport, Minn. She left teaching to raise her four children.

She returned to work as the Tri-County Film Library librarian at what had become the University of Wisconsin - River Falls.

Gretchen was the director of the St. Bridget's Resurrection Choir for 42 years, and was active in many other roles at the Church over the years.

Gretchen enjoyed reading, gardening, her bridge clubs and her volunteer work with the church, but most of all she enjoyed her extended family - particularly her seven grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

Gretchen was preceded in death by her parents, Alvin and Celestine Luebke; her brothers, Roger Luebke, and Kenneth Luebke; and her husband, Robert.

She is survived by her brother, Darrel Luebke; and children, Stu (Jane) Krueger, Karen (Tom) Brown, Maureen Gharrity, and Kathy (Tim) Emholtz, seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

The funeral service for Gretchen will be at St. Bridget Catholic Church in River Falls, Wis., at 3 p.m. Friday, Nov. 8. There will be a visitation from 1-3 p.m. at the church preceding the service. Interment of her remains and those of her husband, Robert, will be at St. Bridget's Catholic Cemetery immediately following the service. A dinner will be served following the service.

Gretchen would prefer memorials to the St. Bridget's Church Music Program in lieu of flowers.
