"Radio Daze" takes place in a CBS radio studio as the cast weaves their way through a compilation of five popular scripts from the 1930s and '40s, including "The Jack Benny Show," "The Bickersons," "The Shadow," "The Strange Dr. Weird," and "The Canterville Ghost." "The Jack Benny Show" is a parody of "High Noon," showcasing the wit and humor that only Benny could produce. Phillip Rapp's "The Bickersons" features a married couple, Blanche and John Bickerson, who drive each other crazy with accusations and insults. "The Shadow," one of the most popular radio shows in history, follows the invincible crime-fighter as he battles menacing adversaries. "Who knows what evil lurks in the hearts of men... the Shadow knows!" Listen -- and shudder -- as the Strange Dr. Weird takes the audience into his macabre confidence and holds them under a spell with his strange and fearsome revelations. "The Canterville Ghost" depicts the in-home adventures of the Otis family after they purchase the haunted Canterville Chase mansion.

"Radio Daze" includes a mix of comedy and drama. Original product advertisements and news segments from the time period are interspersed throughout the show. In addition, live sound effects will be created by the cast during the show.

Director Paul Ashwood conceived the idea of reviving the Golden Age of Radio and compiled the shows himself. This will be his directorial debut at the center.

"Radio Daze" will be performed Jan. 20-29 on Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. as well as Sundays at 2 p.m. in the Black Box Theater. General admission tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for students of all ages. Reservations may be made by contacting The Phipps ticket office at (715) 386-8409 or online at www.ThePhipps.org.
