Gen was born Oct. 25, 1919, to Maurice and Emma (Miller) Mulheron in Spring Valley.

Gen attended Spring Valley Schools and graduated in 1937. On Aug. 10, 1946, she married Frank R. Ducklow, at Sacred Heart Church in Spring Valley. They were blessed with eight children. Frank died in 1970, and Gen went on to raise their children with the help of family and her church.

Faith was the center of Gen's life and she was a lifelong member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, hosting Bible study in her home for more than 30 years. She also sang in the church choir until she couldn't climb the stairs anymore - at which point the choir came to her. She was a member of the Ladies Aid Society; she taught catechism, took care of the plants and cleaned the church at various times. She was honored in 2010, as the recipient of the Women of Light Award for the Diocese of LaCrosse for ongoing dedicated work to the parish.

She was an avid golfer into her 80's, and achieved a golfers ultimate dream by making a hole-in-one at the Spring Valley Golf Course. Other hobbies included quilting, gardening, piano and ceramics.

She is survived by her children: Jean (Larry) Larsen of Hudson, David (Julie) Ducklow of Spring Valley, Brad (Joyce) Ducklow of River Falls, Brian (Barb) Ducklow of Beldenville, Teresa Triplett of Woodridge, Ill., Dan (Sue) Ducklow of River Falls, Donna (Scott) Reuter of River Falls, and Julie (Kent) Althoff of Maplewood, Minn.; 20 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren, John and Joe Knapper, Alma Weise, Miles Larsen, Madison, Emma, Noah, Anthony, Ashley, Connor, and Mara Ducklow and Ella and Charles Weinberger; sisters-in-law, Vanita Olson and Mae Ducklow; and many other relatives and friends.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Frank; sisters: Dorothy Brandvold, Sister Katherine, Carol Fearing and Sister Mary; brothers John, James, Everett and Gerald Mulheron; son-in-law John Triplett; and great granddaughter Hannah Ducklow; brothers-in-law, Alois, Gerald, Fay and Lyle Ducklow; and sister-in law, Joyce Schmoker.
