Francis "Frank" Kichler, Sr., age 87, of River Falls, Wisconsin, passed away at 8:30 a.m. on June 12.
He was born on March 26, 1927, in So. St. Paul, Minn., to the late Martin & Anna Palus Kichler.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Lorraine Lutz Kichler; two sisters Helen O'Keefe and Barbara Berry; and four brothers Carl, Nicholas, Edward and Anton "Tony".
He is survived by his two daughters, Sandra Severson of Superior, Wis., and Rebecca Campbell of River Falls, Wis.; and three sons, Francis, Jr., of Osakis, Minn., Gerald of Rome, Georgia, and James of Backus, Minn.; and many grand and great-grandchildren.
Francis was a World War II Veteran. He entered the Army on Nov. 27, 1945, at Camp Beale, California, as a medical corpsman. He was Honorably Discharged on March 10, 1946, receiving the World War II Victory Medal.
Funeral Services 10 a.m. Thursday, June 19, at Maple Oaks Funeral Home, 2585 Stillwater Rd., Maplewood. Interment Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Visitation 4-8 p.m. Wednesday and one hour prior to the service.
