Four injured in Sunday morning crash near Bay City

BAY CITY -- One person was airlifted and three others transported by ambulance to Fairview Red Wing Medical Center following a two-vehicle crash near Bay City at 11:35 a.m., Sunday.

The Pierce County Sheriff's Department said that vehicles driven by Audrey Burgess of Ellsworth and Andrea Myklebust of Pepin collided at the intersection of Highway 35 and Highway D.

A passenger in the Burgess vehicle -- Leroy Burgess of Ellsworth-- and one in the Myklebust auto, Tansy Sears of Pepin, were hurt.

Sears was flown to Regions Hospital in St. Paul where she was evaluated, treated and released, a spokewoman said Monday morning.

There was no indication of the seriousness of injuries. Ages of those involved were not provided.

Deputies were assisted by ambulances from Red Wing and Ellsworth, while Ellsworth Fire Dept. personnel provided traffic control.

The crash remains under investigation.
