Food co-op celebrates summer and art
Whole Earth Grocery, 126 S. Main St., will host the Bloom 'n' Chalk Fest from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, June 1. The family friendly event will take place at Whole Earth Grocery and beside the Kinnickinnic River on the White Pathway.
The event will feature face painting, henna body art, a kids' area, live music and beverages for purchase. There will also be a chalk fest. For $20 with t-shirt or $10 without, artists will be given a spot, chalk, sponge and gloves to create a portrait based on the theme -- "Veggie Love!" Registration will be at 8 a.m. at Whole Earth Grocery. Prizes will be awarded. From 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Whole Earth, you may purchase edible and ornamental plants from local growers Cedar Hill Greenhouse, Hilsgen Family Farm, Rising Sun Farm, Sun Rush Farm, and local garden shop Garden Divas -- plants will be sold on consignment, so remember your cash or checkbook.
Lunch from, Gehl's Bison Ranch, will be sold from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. outside the co-op.
