Five hospitalized after rear-end crash at Hager City
A Cannon Falls, Minn., woman and her three passengers -- including a six-year-old girl -- were taken to Red Wing Mayo Medical Center Monday afternoon, May 27th, after her Honda sport utility vehicle was rear-ended while waiting to turn across traffic on Hwy. 63 near Hager City.
Pierce County sheriff's deputy Mike Vodinelich said in a press release that Sara J. Niebur, 42, was stopped on Hwy. 63 northbound, waiting to turn left across traffic onto 830th Avenue near Mister Sippi's, when her 2006 Pilot was struck from behind by a Chevrolet S-10 pickup driven by Scott D. Moore, 21, from Ellsworth.
Niebur and passengers in her vehicle -- Patricia J. Manfred, 45, and Kathleen E. Manfred, 70, both of Red Wing and a six-year-old female passenger were all transported by Red Wing Fire Department ambulances to Red Wing Mayo Medical Center with undetermined injuries.
Moore was apparently not injured but a 16-year-old passenger from Hager City was also transported to Mayo with undetermined injuries.
Ellsworth firefighters also assisted at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation.
