Faye Larson, 88";
Faye Ione (Taplin) Larson, age 88, of Ellsworth, died Tuesday, June 25, at the Ellsworth Care Center, surrounded by her family, following a short illness.
She was born on July 27, 1924, in Elmwood, Wis., to Lynn and Verta (Bunce) Taplin. She graduated from Prescott High School. She served as a WAVE in the U.S. Navy for 2 years. She was an airplane mechanic. She married Edwin Larson in Stillwater on July 10, 1950. Faye was a stay-at-home mom until her children were all in school. She worked for the Ellsworth school system and Red Wing Shoe.
Faye enjoyed the outdoors and loved attending her grandchildren's sporting events. She liked to play cards and listen to old-time music. Faye was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a great source of comfort in trying times for family and friends. Her kindness and caring will be greatly missed by many.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin; five sisters; and five brothers.
She is survived by her children, James (Charlene) of Hager City, Wis., Richard of Savannah, Ga., and Julie (Mark) Jensen of Beldenville, Wis.; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; and many good friends.
A memorial service for Faye will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 20, at the English Lutheran Church in Ellsworth, Wis. Visitation will be 2 hours prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at Maple Grove Cemetery in Ellsworth.
