Enjoy music and coffee as concerts continue
The UW-River Falls continues to offer afternoon concerts open to the public, beginning at noon and lasting less than an hour with coffee served afterwards.
--Friday, March 7 -- Skip James, conductor/harpsichord, Margaret Jane Ray, vocalist, and violinists Sharon Zierath and Kristin Cassada plus members of the St. Croix Valley Symphony Orchestra. This program's title is "Music of Germany" with Bach, Mahler, Wagner and Mozart.
--Friday, March 14 -- Ivan Konev, piano, Natalia Moisevee, violin
Patrick O'Keefe, clarinet in Trio version of Igor Stravinsky's "The Soldier's Tale" and "Contrasts" by Bella Bartok. This program's title is "All quiet on the Western front".
--Friday, April 11 -- Ivan Konev, solo piano with a program called " Music of Love and Redemption"- Romantic repertoire including such pieces as Wagner's Isoldes Liebes-tod and Overture from Tannhauser transcribed by Liszt.
--Friday, May 9 -- Piano duo Oleg Levin and Ivan Konev, with Patti Cudd, percussion with fun arrangements of pieces by Piazzola, Gershwin, Milhaud, Lutoslawski and Bolcom,"Piano fun!". Paganini's variations by Lutoslawski.
