Elva Hillibrandt, 97
Elva C. Bottolfson Hillebrandt, 97, of River Falls, died on Monday, Aug. 24, 2009, at the Kinnic Long Term Care.
Elva was born on Aug. 16, 1912, in Lake Benton, Minn., the daughter of Otto and Emma (Albright) Schardin. She attended school through the 8th grade. Elva married Melvin Bottolfson on May 14, 1938. They made their home in Edina, Minn. They later moved to River Falls. Melvin died in 1969.
Elva worked for many years at the River Falls Laundry where she was a shirt presser. She later worked for the Kinnic Long Term Care as a nurse's aide. After retiring she enjoyed volunteering at the Kinnic and watering plants in the Greenwood Cemetery.
Elva married Albin Hillebrandt in October of 1981. He died in 1988.
Elva was a charter member of Faith Lutheran Church in River Falls.
Elva is survived by her children: Joyce McKahan of Beldenville, Marilyn (LaVerne) Klingensmith of Ellsworth, Wayne Bottolfson of Riceville, Iowa, Glen Bottolfson of River Falls, and Lonny Bottolfson of River Falls; 14 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren; three step-great grandchildren. She is further survived by many nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
Her husbands, parents, son, Darrel Bottolfson; granddaughters, Jean Getzie and Karla Colegrove; grandson, Scott Bottolfson; four sisters and one brother preceded her in death.
Funeral services for Elva will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 28, at Faith Ev. Lutheran Church in River Falls.
Rev. Marcus Birkholz will officiate. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
Friends are invited to call at the church on Friday from 1 p.m. until time of services. No other visitation will be held.
Pallbearers will be Elva's grandchildren: Jim McKahan, Jeremy, Josh, and Cody Bottolfson, Kathy Pechacek and Tricia Rotta.
