According to the tour guides (city officials), Thursday's City Hall Open House event drew about 1,000 visitors to River Falls' new home by the river, 222 Lewis St.
Besides the 613 people who signed up for tours, with many more visitors joining tours or exploring on their own.
The city held its event in conjunction with Town 'N Country Day, hosted this year in Heritage Park near the Kinnickinnic River instead of on Locust Street downtown.
People gathered outside the new City Hall at 3 p.m. for a short ceremony at which River Falls Police officers raised the flag to commemorate the official opening of the building.
