Days Gone By: Halloween 1963
In 1963 River Falls held a city-wide Halloween party, complete with a costume parade in the parking lot beside the new senior high school building (in 2013 Meyer Middle School building) on Ninth Street, followed by a movie and refreshments at Greenwood School.
Dick Cashman, chairman of the Chamber of Commerce’s recreation committee announced a bus would travel the city picking up children and dropping them off following the party. Mr. and Mrs. Keith Barry were in charge of parade activities. A party at the junior high for sixth-, seventh- and eighth- and ninth-graders featured bingo, a record hop and refreshments, ending at 9:30 p.m.
High school and college students were treated with a dance at the high school gym starting at 8 p.m. with music by Dvid Zerahn and his Orchestra. Dance was over at 11 p.m. with refreshments served throughout.
